Bread By Elise’s organic sourdough bagels are made with premium ingredients and our famous sourdough starter as the rising agent - no commercial yeast and no salt. Sourdough is healthier and easier to digest and these bagels are awesome toasted - crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.
We incorporate all of our ingredients to make a beautiful dough that is fermented for 3-4 hours in the morning, then hand-shaped and placed in a hot water bath seasoned with a bit of honey or maple syrup. This step gives you a bagel that gives. a sheen and slightly sweet taste.
After the bagels are pre-cooked with water, they are then generously rolled in premium sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything bagel spices, before being popped into the oven to give you the best-tasting bagels you have ever had.
